Depth of field experiment

Depth of field experiment

I splurged on a new lens today. Okay, so it wasn't exactly a splurge - it is quite possibly the cheapest lens available and it was on sale. I now have a 50mm 1.8 to play with, and this is the first thing I did with it.

Flailing Rivet

AKA Peanut butter face.

PB butter Rivet 2

I meant to take more photos of the dogs today and then cleverly left it so late that I had to use the flash. The flash I don't know how to use. The flash I changed the settings on and am not quite sure what I did. That flash. Still took photos anyway on the grounds that it would be good for me. The dogs approve of any activity involving peanut butter so there were no complaints there.

Rivet, four ways

Rivet variations

I am dying to put text on this also but I can't think of a single witty thing to say, so I left it without words.

Square Rivet, with tongue

This perspective is providing me with great amusement these days. I stood on a stool to get this one, but I think next time I might go higher.

As usual these days I also tried this in black and white. I was surprised at how insipid it was, so I'll spare you. Vignetted just for fun (and because I'm learning how).

I like fences. Usually I want to shoot through them but this one called out to be the subject of the photo.

Roasted pumpkin V2.

Just because this was one of those things that really should be in colour.

Completely unrelated to pumpkin:
Holly tagged me with an award a while ago and said some very sweet things in the process. I am not going to pass it on but I appreciate it very much.

(edited, much later, because I misspelled Holly's name)
(I'm sorry, Holly)
